Herding Cats: Emerging Approaches to Managing the Complexities of Schizoaffective Disorder

Schizoaffective disorder is a chronic mental health condition characterized by symptoms of both schizophrenia and a mood disorder, such as mania or depression. The DSM definition of schizoaffective disorder has evolved over the years and the current DSM-5(-TR) criteria now takes into account the life-course of the illness. This session will highlight the diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder and where it fits in the schizophrenia spectrum, as well as current pharmacological treatments.
